I've always wanted to open a door and have all my friends on the other side yelling SURPRISE! Thanks to my wonderful girlfriend, it finally happened.

I'm at my local library, using the internet. I didn't feel much different waking up today, in fact I've had a cold for almost two weeks and today I actually felt better. But now, sitting here and reading my LJ friend's list, and my Facebook, I was suddenly overcome with a really gross, disgusting feeling:
No matter what, I will never truly belong.
I'm not trying to be all boo-hoo, poor me. Yeah, the feeling sucks but really it's more of an observation. I know I've felt this way all my life. I can always seem to make friends easily enough, but it hardly ever gets to be real, extremely deep friendship. I always just seem to enter groups of people who have known each other forever, like the kids I know here in Ohio. Everyone knows everyone, and from a long way back. I don't feel like they exclude me in any way; it's just that I will never be what they are to each other.
It's hard not fitting in to a nice neat package. I'm Mexican, but not really. I'm American, but not really. I was raised Mormon, but I'm no more Mormon now than a fish is a bird. I sometimes feel like maybe I'll totally reconnect and feel like part of something if I move back to Mexico, like it will somehow click and some hidden parts of my genes will wake up. But my mom has clued me in to the reality that most likely I'll be MUCH MORE out of place in Mexico City 2010. Plus she worked really hard to keep me here, why would I just throw that away?
So, how can I be the Bee Girl from the Blind Melon video? How can I throw open those gates and see a whole field full of other Bee people dancing and waving me in? So far in life the only other Bee People I've come across are my brothers, and they're very far away, and both ready to start their own lives.
Dang that's a lot of typing.

| TURTLE POWER! |
[22 Nov 2009|05:55pm] |
HI GUYS. I'm sad that I've been ignoring LJ, (not completely...I still read everyone's journal) but I wanted to share this with you guys:

We're having a RADICAL TMNT PIZZA PARTY. I'm going to be DJ and host, spinning late 80s and early 90s rap, and there is going to be a BUNCH OF PIZZA! Afterward we will screen the 1989 classic!
I even made some prints to promote the party, as well as an Etsy shop to raise some money for the party. (So if you know any turtle fans, let them know about it plz!)

I miss you guys.

| On Saint Bernards, first impressions and adoption processes |
[28 Aug 2009|11:29am] |
So, last Wednesday, I went to visit my girlfriend at her mom's baked goods stand at theTuscarawas Valley Family Farm Market. I was pretty bummed that day, and was walking around when I saw the Tuscarawas Humane Society booth. I went over to ask about Saint Bernard rescue programs in Ohio, because I wanted a Saint Bernard but I wanted a rescue animal if at all possible. I was stunned when the girl looked at me, dumbfounded, and said "How WEIRD. We just got in a Saint Bernard puppy in like THREE DAYS AGO." It felt like fate. I instantly went from one of the worst moods ever to one of the best, and couldn't contain my excitement. When my roommate showed up in his car, I convinced him to take me out to see the puppy.

| 10 years is a long time |
[26 Jun 2009|11:54am] |
I'm sleepy. I worked midnight to 8am, and rode my bike the two miles home. I really should of been sleeping two hours ago, but one of these songs came to mind, and so, ALL of them came to mind. This is (some of) what I was listening to 10 years ago. A lot has happened since then. A lot has changed. It's kind of bittersweet. I think sleep deprivation is making me melancholy.
Oh well.
What were you listening to 10 years ago?

I watch my share of clever, interesting, or just plain goofy videos online. (In fact, you could argue that my livejournal is hardly ever personal and is mostly reposting of videos. Which is true, I guess, but only because I don't have my own digital camera.)
But today has been a stinking GOLDMINE of good videos, so if you've got some time, check these out!
Number One of the day:

"A Kiss From Tokyo" Theatrical trailer from Stephane coedel on Vimeo.
This is beyond awesome. I'm so happy that animators and illustrators today are obsessed with mid-century design and style. I'm in space age heaven! These guys, Brad Bird, and Ward Jenkins need to get together and work on a space opera-esque feature film.
Thanks, piratecore!

Check these out!!! These Nerdimals were done by one of my favorite artists, Lauren Gregg! (She made my Treetop Theater logo for me, and made this video for of Montreal, and is now working on a greenlit pilot for Disney Channel!)
These are all so awesome, I wish I could buy them all. She's got them for sale at her Etsy store. My favorites? Trek Kitty (obviously) Record Nerd Chipmunk, and Role Playing Unicorn. Which are your favorites? Do you see yourself in any of these?
I am now officially one day into my thirties. Don't feel that different. Had a pretty awesome birthday yesterday, didn't go to Disney (rainy, gross, late start) but I'm going to Universal Studios today! I also received two of the best birthday presents I've ever gotten.
First one:

Yeah. Feel the power. Nerd, plus righteous wolf spirit tee, plus Enterprise model with working lights and sound effects. Jane is the BEST.
Second present is too awesome to describe, and pictures will come tomorrow. In the meantime, check this video I made complete with: holographic Enterprise, my own Star Trek/NES/8-bit/hip-hop song, and special effects!
LIVE LONG AND PROSPER
