I'm sleepy. I worked midnight to 8am, and rode my bike the two miles home. I really should of been sleeping two hours ago, but one of these songs came to mind, and so, ALL of them came to mind. This is (some of) what I was listening to 10 years ago. A lot has happened since then. A lot has changed. It's kind of bittersweet. I think sleep deprivation is making me melancholy.
Oh well.

I watch my share of clever, interesting, or just plain goofy videos online. (In fact, you could argue that my livejournal is hardly ever personal and is mostly reposting of videos. Which is true, I guess, but only because I don't have my own digital camera.)

Check these out!!! These Nerdimals were done by one of my favorite artists, Lauren Gregg! (She made my Treetop Theater logo for me, and made this video for of Montreal, and is now working on a greenlit pilot for Disney Channel!)
These are all so awesome, I wish I could buy them all. She's got them for sale at her Etsy store. My favorites? Trek Kitty (obviously) Record Nerd Chipmunk, and Role Playing Unicorn. Which are your favorites? Do you see yourself in any of these?
I am now officially one day into my thirties. Don't feel that different. Had a pretty awesome birthday yesterday, didn't go to Disney (rainy, gross, late start) but I'm going to Universal Studios today! I also received two of the best birthday presents I've ever gotten.
First one:
Yeah. Feel the power. Nerd, plus righteous wolf spirit tee, plus Enterprise model with working lights and sound effects. Jane is the BEST.
Second present is too awesome to describe, and pictures will come tomorrow. In the meantime, check this video I made complete with: holographic Enterprise, my own Star Trek/NES/8-bit/hip-hop song, and special effects!

I was wrong. The trailer was wrong. Star Trek RULED SO HARD. I haven't been that happy at a movie since Life Aquatic, or Amelie. Seriously, seriously, FUN. If you haven't seen it, consider this my formal recommendation. And if you're not a fan, don't let that stop you. Jane's not a fan, and I'm pretty sure she feels almost as strongly as I do about this movie. GO. GO NOW.

Don't be embarrassed. EMBRACE YOUR INNER TREKKER. And, even if you're not lucky enough to be one of the chosen few, and aren't down with Star Trek, throw it up anyway. Ol' Jerk Jams Abram is making it ok for everyone to like Star Trek anyway. (Which, at first, I wasn't down with, but I guess there's nothing I can do about it anymore. I was excited for this movie, as this entry shows,but now, not so much. But I'm not their demographic. It's not really for the fans. It's to make new fans, like a Star Trek for Dummies book, in film form.)
Anyway, THROW THAT VULCAN SALUTE UP! DO IT! And speaking of the chosen few, people have been doing it for thousands of years!

My superawesomehonorarylittlesister Mallory (peachpearyum)drew that for me last night! (Notice my belly is showing, I'm dreaming of cupcakes, and if you've got eagle eyes, you can see my crack, which coincidentally, in real life you don't need eagle eyes to see) Don't blame it though for the quality of my cruddy scanner, it's super neat. It just adds to my Where The Wild Things Are mania! There's even a super touching and wonderful note on the back, and yes I'll spare you of its righteous sappiness.
If anyone of my LJ friends wishes to draw, use felt, or paint me as a Wild Thing, or hanging with the Wild Things, or eating a giant pizza, please, please, be my guest! I will give you a prize! It could be something awesome like a rare set of View Master reels, or a vintage Moishe doll, or something lame like a hug. You'll never know unless you try!
Anyway, for all you Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy fans out there, according to Jane there are 42 steps from the street to my apartment. I didn't bother to confirm since my legs turned to jelly melting in butter by the third trip up. It sucks being out of shape, I don't recommend it to anyone. But, we're getting moved in so that's good, and I'm hoping for new wonderful things ahead. Fingers crossed, knock on wood!
